Founder & Head Guide
Brian grew up in Fort Portal and has been guiding in the Albertine Rift since 2009. He founded Kalika Safaris to prove that a Ugandan company could run safaris better than anyone, and still treats every itinerary as a personal introduction to his country.

Sarah is the person most of our guests speak to first. She has walked every trail in Bwindi, knows which lodge room has the best view at each one, and has an uncanny talent for matching a family to the right itinerary.

Moses has spent fourteen years driving and guiding between Kampala, Murchison and Kidepo. He can identify a bird from its call at 80km/h and knows which track produces leopards in which month.
Primate Specialist Guide
Grace trained as a primatologist before joining us and leads most of our chimpanzee and gorilla tracking departures. She is also a brilliant tracker — she once found a gorilla family that had moved three valleys overnight.

I have been on safari in Kenya and Tanzania, but nothing prepared me for the moment the silverback turned and looked straight at me. Six metres. No fence. Our guide Brian had told us exactly what to do and it all went quiet except for the chewing. I still think about it every week.
Moses knew every bird by call, every plant by name and every ranger by first name. He also noticed that our son was struggling with the long drives and quietly reorganised the day so we broke the journey up. That is the difference between a driver and a guide.
