Anyone with a healthy level of fitness (each trek involves 1–5 hours of forest walking) and a camera with a fast lens. Children from 15 years can trek.
Safari Itinerary
Drive west through the tea country of Fort Portal. Afternoon walk around the crater lakes, then settle into your forest lodge.
Track habituated chimpanzee families with ranger-guides. Afternoon Bigodi wetland walk with over 200 bird species.
Drive through the Ishasha sector on the way south, looking for the famous tree-climbing lions. Evening briefing for the gorilla trek.
Sunrise trek to your assigned gorilla family (one magical hour), then begin the journey back towards Kampala.
