Safari Itinerary
Pick-up after breakfast and drive southwest through banana plantations and the Equator line, stopping for lunch in Mbarara. Arrive at your Bwindi lodge in the late afternoon, in time for a village walk and a briefing from your guide on trekking etiquette and gorilla family history.
An early start with packed lunch. Rangers lead you into the forest — treks last 1 to 5 hours depending on where the family spent the night. You get one magical hour with the gorillas at close range. Evening: community dance performance by the Batwa if you wish.
Sunrise coffee overlooking the forest canopy, then the drive back north with a lunch stop and arrival in Kampala by early evening. Optional stop at the Igongo Cultural Museum.
